The Spirit of St. Margaret guides
our community outreach ministry
St. Margaret was a very compassionate 11th century Queen of Scotland who fed crowds of poor people with her own hands and money. She made the Scottish court beautiful and civilized, and she set a wonderful example of purity and devotion, which was copied by all in her court. She cared for the poor as no royalty had in the history of Scotland. Margaret was a blessing to her people. She worked hard to obtain good teachers, to correct evil practices that trapped the poor in poverty and to provide avenues for people to be able to help themselves.
God endowed St. Margaret with a wonderful love for the poor. Through her intercession and example, we at St. Margaret's Community Outreach hope to be generous enough with our time, our advocacy and our financial resources to inspire hope in the lives of more people in need in the West Georgia area, providing real
opportunities that empower people to break the entrapping
bonds of poverty and become productive, joyful, and successful
children of God.
